Each year, projects are developed that will benefit our community and area. Some of these projects were completed within the year of the program. Others are on going and involve the entire community. Past projects include:

Contact: Jennifer Rigney, 601.266.5521
Hattiesburg, Miss – Brownstone’s Fine Dining Restaurant and Bar and Group One of the 2009 Leadership Pinebelt class will present Stars and Stripes, a Fourth of July Celebration, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Town Square Park in Downtown Hattiesburg.
The event will feature live music by KAISO!; an antique car show; kid’s parade; fun jumps; great food from the Bottling Company; drinks; and a patriotic finale. Grab your chair and blanket and prepare to relax and have fun with family and friends as we celebrate our nation’s independence. The event is free and open to the public.
Brownstone’s, now in its third year, will host its 3rd Anniversary Party immediately following the Stars and Stripes event with live music by The Jay Stevens Trio, as well as drink specials all night long. Brownstone’s brings a little New Orleans style to downtown (103 East Front Street) with its authentic Louisiana Cajun and Creole cuisine, served in a casual New Orleans atmosphere. For reservations or more information, call 601.545.2250 or visit www.brownstones.com.
Leadership Pinebelt (formerly Leaders for a New Century), a long-standing program of the Area Development Partnership, is now in its 21st year of identifying and nurturing leaders in the Greater Hattiesburg Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). With nearly 400 graduates since 1989, Leadership Pinebelt has proven to broaden the base of existing community leaders and serve as a catalyst for new ideas among future leaders. Group one members include Jennifer Doleac, N.R. Burger Middle School; Joshua Johnson, A.B. Green & Associates Inc.; Brian Moore, BancorpSouth; Jennifer Rigney, The University of Southern Mississippi; Tom Smith, Primerica Financial Services; and Kimberly Thomas, 15th Judicial District Circuit Court.
