Southeast Mississippi Community Investment Corporation (SEMCIC)

After School Academics and Arts ProgramEstablished in 1993 by seven local participating banks, Southeast Mississippi Community Investment Corporation (SEMCIC) is a non-profit Mississippi Corporation dedicated to job creation, business creation and expansion and support of non-traditional business loan seekers, as well as the expansion of job opportunities for low-and-moderate income individuals.

SEMCIC, an initiative of the ADP, has approved a variety of small business loans throughout Greater Hattiesburg.  This gap financing tool, in part, is a partnership with member banks to provide non-traditional small business financing to new business start-ups or existing business expansions in the Pine Belt region.  Our partner banks include BancorpSouth, Great Southern National Bank, Hancock Bank, Regions Bank, The First, ANBA and Trustmark National Bank.

This collaboration has provided loans to childcare facilities, restaurants, trucking companies, retailers, tax services and manufacturers, to name a few.  SEMCIC also works closely with the Jones County Junior College’s Small Business Development Center, SCORE and the South MS Contract Procurement Center to provide technical assistance in preparing required documents for a potential loan request or small business counseling.
