PRCC: Lowery A. Woodall Advanced Technology Center

Opened in 2004, the Pearl River Community College (PRCC) Advanced Technology Center’s mission is to offer and arrange workforce education and training in the college’s 6 county training area:  Forrest, Lamar, Marion, Hancock, Pearl River, and Jefferson Davis.  Its primary focus lies in the area of the local workforce as they provide necessary training that allows employees to perform effectively and efficiently in their jobs.

  • Collaborate with Charter States, educators, national education organizations, employers and other experts in employment training
  • Workplace skills training
  • Job Profiling – determines the skill level required in a specific job performance.  An analysis of the job’s critical tasks and the level of skill it takes to perform that job are conducted.
  • Assessments – usually conducted after the job profiling has been completed.  Individuals are assessed in many areas of the job to determine if there is a match between the profile of the job and the individual’s profile.
  • Training – normally conducted once the profiling and assessments are completed.  Assists the company in determining real training needs and areas for improvement, whether it’s basic skills, interpersonal skills, or technical skills.
