Community Development

Community Development Overview

Community Development serves as the bridge building catalyst between Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development work.  This division pulls together elected officials throughout the Pine Belt region to build collaboration and establish great working relationships between the state, local, and federal delegation.

Community Development’s focus ranges from in-depth work with the region’s elected officials to small business development through its small business loan program.  This division’s role, in-part, is to ensure the region’s outlying communities are an integral part of our area's team regarding building and sustaining growth, development and quality of life.

Community Development provides the region’s officials an avenue to obtain useful data, dialogue with peers for the benefit of working on related concerns/issues without duplication, which subsequently helps them to better serve their constituents in the Pine Belt region.  Through various meetings, presentations and other dialogue, each community official is empowered to better assess their respective needs and identify a more productive course for obtaining positive, long-lasting results that benefit their areas for years to come. The Community Development division also focuses on transportation and workforce development advocacy in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development divisions.
